Hello friends welcome to my website. I am a piano teacher in Mukilteo, Washington and I have a BA degree in Music from the University of Washington in 1985. My major instrument was piano and my minor was singing. I am a grandstudent of Rosina and Josef Lhevinne Julliard School of Music, New York. My teacher Seattle concert pianist Lois Lisez studied with these great Russian Jewish concert pianists and teachers. A quote and then the article I have from LIFE magazine under the decades most important women said, " Madame Rosina Lhevinne, 96 years old and semi-retired the greatest piano teacher in all the world." Their legacy was passed down to her students, myself included. Josef Lhevinne, her husband studied with Vasily Safonov at the Imperial Conservatory in Moscow. He settled into the life of piano concert tours and teaching at Julliard until his death in 1944. I have 30 years experience as a piano and/or singing teacher and professional accompanist. I accompanied the Seattle Children Ballet for 5 years under the director and choreographer Laura Denke. I was an accompanist in the singing studio of teacher Lee Wicker (Northwest Regional Governor of National Association Teachers of Singing (NATS) for 5 years. I was the church pianist for Redmond Presbyterian 5 years. Al Gephart was the pastor, music director and baritone soloist there. Pastor Gephart was an excellent musician and singer. He sang a solo at every sermon and we did a Christian television performance together. I was accompanist to Soprano Heather Burke. We made 2 live CD's with our recording engineer and my present piano tuner Pavel Dimov. Heather and I were together three and a half years and performed around the Mukilteo, Everett and Seattle area in different venues. I have been an adjudicator for the Washington State Federation of Music Clubs (WSFMC) 25 years at my Alma mater the University of Washington. In 2016 I nominated my good friend and colleague Sharon Van Valin (NCTM) Piano/Composition/Theory teacher to the Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA) Hall of Fame. Sharon was accepted along with 2 other teachers in the Hall of Fame. I am a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA), Seattle Music Teachers Association (SMTA), Edmonds Music Teachers Association (EMTA) and National Association Teachers of Singing (NATS). I am accepting piano students. All ages welcome. My studio/Your Home ~ The fee and amount of time for the lessons will be negotiated at our first meeting, on the phone or by email.
